About

My favorite tool is the imagination. The use of ideas, the communication of feeling, the comments on life and emotions, the voyeuristic quality of telling people anonymously about yourself, but leaving people to wonder.

In this world of ever changing technology, printmaking is a stable environment. The nostalgia and long steeped traditions are a piece of history. There is a long line of printers that have gone before me and there will be a long line of printers after I have gone. Each printer adds to the information and learns more information from their peers, always keeping the history and lessons alive. Printmaking is all consuming. Once you start printing a piece you are in for the long haul and the beauty that is to be discovered. It is a messy process that demands a pristine outcome. Printmaking will try your mind and go against all logic, thus making the most logical sense.

When my work is going well I have sense of peace and rightness of the world. It is a euphoric high. I have put my feelings out there. I have made a piece of work to be shared with the world that is personal to me and that will touch others. Like family, we are all connected by similar experiences, but take from them different ideas.

My work relies on the combination of different elements and techniques. With each idea or concept there are a multitude of possibilities and techniques to be use. It is my job to find the best materials and techniques to express a certain idea. Taking the things I know and applying them to the process for the best possible outcome. When a piece comes together in a harmonious way, it is perfect, the combination of all parts to create a unique piece of art.
